New Radicalisms biennial is initiated by (A)WAKE.

(A)WAKE sets up programs by and for people somehow wired to the WANA* (West Asia and North Africa) region. Embedded in multidisciplinary art practices, electronic music development, and transnational connections, these programs provide a space for sharing and exploring strategies to navigate challenging socio-political climates. With Rotterdam as our main outpost, we are creating an exchange between bicultural, second/third generation and diaspora artists, designers and cultural workers. We develop cultural programs that do justice to the complexity of our current socio-political context and to the perspectives of minorities who have been overlooked and/or tokenized by mainstream institutions.

In addition to New Radicalisms, we also run H3ritage Studios, Jossour cross-national exchange program, and the newly opened moezeum.
