Sirr al-'Asrâr (live AV)

Sirr al-’Asrâr is an experimental live audiovisual project, a collective journey in ethereal melodies and mesmerizing graphics.

Sirr al-’Asrâr (Arabic for ‘The Secret of Secrets’) is the joint project of Skander Ben Yahia, Zohra Mrad and Skander Jaïbi. Raised in Tunisia, they are now based in Amsterdam, Paris and Luxembourg. Their sonic landscapes oscillate between serenity and discord. Intertwined with hypnotic and surreal visuals, they envelop their audience in a trance-like state of contemplation.

Through this abstract experiential space, Sirr al-’Asrâr echoes the whispers of the oppressed and their history. Weaving tales of emotion, resilience, and defiance, each composition is a reflection of the collective unconscious ambivalence, between hope and despair.

Sirr al-’Asrâr combines the use of archival material, generative audiovisual design with composition and improvisation, stressing the creation of a twilight audiovisual space. At the heart of their performance lies a balanced system of probabilistic events. In juxtaposition with set and clear audiovisual design rules and substantial improvisation, Sirr al-’Asrâr is an intricate dialogue between the three artists, and the artists and their their tools.
